WHAT WE'RE DOING TO KEEP YOU SAFE
How will the audience be socially distanced in their seats?
We have been working hard to ensure that all audience members will be sat with social distancing measures in place. Each booking will be allocated a 3sqm “pod", which will be spaced accordingly. We ask that you do not move the chairs, stay within your pod and not visit other groups outside of yours. Each seating section will be colour coded and you will have ushers dedicated to your area only to help with any queries you may have during your time in the theatre.

How will social distancing be enforced throughout the venue?
Signage will be present reminding people that social distancing is in place. Ushers and security will be present to ensure that this is maintained. There will be three colour-coded entrances (one at the front of the building on Middlegate, one at the entrance to the Headland Sports Centre and one *insert location*) with corresponding colour-coded toilets and bar areas to ensure large crowds will not form at the entrance, toilets and other communal areas.
Will my temperature be taken?
We will be conducting contactless temperature checks upon arrival at the venue. Your temperature will be logged against your booking name for track and trace purposes. If your temperature is above the recommended guidelines at the time, you may not be admitted to ensure the safety of our cast, crew and audience members.
How long is the show?
You will be able to gain access to Borough Hall from 1 hour before the advertised show time to take your seats and get ready for the fun! The show itself will last for around 1 hour and 45 minuets. To reduce traffic in the isles our show this year will not have an interval, however, online orders will be open throughout the show to allow you to receive refreshments and snacks during the show!
What hygiene measures will you be taking to ensure that we will be safe?
Hand sanitising stations will be placed throughout the venue and audience members will be regularly encouraged by the elves to wash their hands. Each seat will be sanitised between performances.
Do I have to wear a mask?
As with all aspects of this event, we will be following the relevant government guidelines at the time. At present, you are more than welcome to wear a mask if this would make you feel more comfortable, but this is not compulsory.
Will merchandise be available?
Of course! All merchandise will still be in their packaging and will be available for purchase either on the day or to pre-order to remember this truly unique event!
What about refreshments?
When booking your tickets you will be able to pre-order snacks, drinks and marchandise. (Yes you won’t be able to get away from those this Christmas!). All refreshments will be brought to your seat and additional orders will be taken throughout the show.
There will also be hot and cold drinks available (including alcoholic beverages for you older kids!), as well as ice creams & popcorn!
can I buy my ticket on the door?
We would highly recommend that tickets are booked in advance. Due to the restricted capacity and limited number of performances, we anticipate that tickets will sell very quickly. Subject to availability, there may be tickets available to purchase on the door, but we cannot guarantee entry.
how do i buy tickets?
Will there be a pantomime at the Town Hall Theatre this Christmas?
The town hall theatre is currently under renovation, therefore, our brand new pantomime company AJ Productions will be producing at the Borough Hall until we are able to return to the fabulous newly renovated Town Hall Theatre! By performing at the Borough hall this Christmas we are able to utilise the extra space within the theatre to distance our audience whilst still giving the people of Hartlepool a fabulous festive experience like no other!
My child is under 2, do they need a ticket?
If your under-2 and will be sitting on the lap of an adult member of your group, and will not require their own seat, then you will not need to book a ticket for them.
Please note: You will be asked for proof of age for the child upon arrival at the venue. Failure to present this may result in you not being granted admission.
Who should I include in my booking?
You should book a ticket for each person in your household/bubble and each household/bubble should have their own booking. This will allow us to carry out the event in the safest possible way.
Is the event suitable for those in wheelchairs?
Absolutely! Our staff will be on hand to make your experience as stress-free as possible. If you require a wheelchair space, please book a ticket as normal and speak to the ushers on arrival or alternatively call ahead of time with you’re booking number so we can ensure you are seated as quickly as possible.
Do you have any other shows planned for 2021?
Yes, we do! AJ Productions will be back in the Spring of 2021 with our brand new Easter Pantomime Mother Goose! We will also be returning next Christmas with Hartlepool’s biggest pantomime yet! Keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates and how to book for all upcoming shows!
All procedures and policies are subject to change based on government guidelines at the time.
Although "the supplier" (AJ Productions and Hartlepool Borough Hall) will be adopting enhanced safety measures to help attendees stay safe, the risk cannot be completely eliminated. Upon attending an event, you assume all risk associated with Covid-19 (unless in any way caused by the negligence of "the supplier").
You will also be expected to:
Abide by all government guidance aimed at preventing the transmission of the virus (details of which can be accessed via the following link and follow all directions provided by "the supplier" and its Event staff and security stewards. You must not attend an event if you believe that you may have been infected by Covid-19.
Failure to comply with these measures shall entitle "the supplier" to eject you from the event.
All events are all subject to the latest Government guidance rules to manage the transmission of Covid-19. All customers and staff are expected to adhere to the guidance.
The following individuals MUST NOT ATTEND the event;
Any individual displaying the symptoms of Covid-19 (New persistent cough, High temperature, Loss of taste or smell)
Any individual who is self-isolating either due to displaying symptoms as above for 7 days, or any member of their household who is self-isolating for 14 days. Any individual who has been instructed by the relevant contact tracing authority to isolate.
We ADVISE the following individuals NOT TO ATTEND the event;
Any individual who has been informed that they are extremely clinically vulnerable and that they should be shielding. Individuals who live in the same household as an individual who is extremely clinically vulnerable.
